Avilio Halme, MPT, COMS, owner

I opened Cascadia Physical Therapy in 2006 with the goal of creating a space for healing, rehabilitation, and athletic enhancement that is centered around creativity and compassion. I enjoy working with each individual to meet their goals, recognizing that we all have a unique history and lifestyle that plays a role in our physical capabilities, comfort level and growth mindset. My primary goal as a PT is to assist my clients in improving their self-awareness.

My training is primarily influenced by sports-specific and plyometric athletic enhancement programs (NCAA Division 1 collegiate athlete), Feldenkrais-style Movement Re-education (Certified Orthopedic Movement Specialist), Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation and Myofascial Release.

I enjoy actively discovering the many beauties of the PNW with my lovely family; including my wife, Theresa and two sons, Gabe and Ollie.

Sheryl Selch, MPT, CFMT

I’ve been working at Cascadia PT since 2010. I view the body as an integrated whole, with the goal of improving the efficiency of functional movement patterns by evaluating and treating the soft tissues, joints, nerves and viscera combined with active movement re-education. My favorite part of PT is seeing the joy or ‘lightbulb’ moments when patients feel and own the changes in their bodies, noticed by their improved ease of movement and decrease in symptoms.

I have an interest in mindfulness and mind/body movement practices (including Feldenkrais work) and have been a yoga practitioner since the mid-90’s, as well as completing a 200 hr. yoga teacher training in 2005 and teaching yoga classes for 8 yrs. After a few years of intensive study, in 2019, I passed ‘with honors’, a rigorous oral/practical and written exam with the Institute of Physical Art to become a Certified Functional Manual Therapist®, (CFMT).

I am the proud mom of two young adult boys and enjoy being active and also relaxing in nature, especially the mountains. I enjoy walks with my dog Zuri, running, yoga, reading, knitting, digging in the dirt and working on my Spanish, preferably while traveling.

Rene’ Wendt, PTA

I have been working as a PTA for 22 years. My passion is helping people meet their goals with manual therapy, creative movement and encouragement.

I have pursued extensive training in joint, soft tissue, visceral and neural mobilization. My interest in pain education, osteoporosis and strength training for older adults has inspired me to explore new ideas and ways of approaching movement.

As an avid trail runner and hiking enthusiast, I love being outdoors. Line dancing is one of my latest pursuits. I also enjoy the company of my three amazing grandchildren.

Becky Lancaster, DPT

As a Physical Therapist, I am passionate about walking people through their healing process. I see my role as a guide. I am here to enlighten people as to how their body works and responds to injury. I believe that using ‘hands on’ manual therapy and teaching people how to use movement to break dysfunctional patterns can empower them to heal and avoid injury in the future.

I received my degree at the Univ. of Puget Sound in Tacoma and continued my professional training at the North American Institute of Manual Therapy, focusing on how to evaluate and treat joints using biomechanics principles. I am passionate about learning and teaching anatomy. Recently I spent time up at WWU, helping to get their cadaver lab started. I was able to do extensive dissection as well as work with students and faculty exploring the form and function of the human body.

I have twin (boy and girl) 2 year olds that keep me VERY busy when I am not working. My husband and I also have two wonderful, elderly dogs (border collie mixes). We are from the beautiful ‘PNW’ and enjoy all of the outdoor activities it has to offer.
